OK – here is a story about a former colleague at one of my companies (not saying which one), let’s call him Bob.

One day Bob called in to inform his manager that he would not be coming to work that morning for personal reasons. Now, normally this would be a perfectly reasonable excuse and would lead to no further enquiries. Bob, however, was already known as the interstate call-in-sick champion with an impressive record as the least reliable employee with the most “sick” days. By far! Hence, a bit of prompting was called for:

Manager: What is the nature of your personal problem this time, Bob?

Bob: a close relative passed away and I have to go to the funeral

Manager: Again? … I’m sorry but I find that hard to believe. With the risk of sounding insensitive to your plight, please show me a copy of the obituary or some other form of documentation. I just really need to be sure that you’re not screwing us this time, Bob.

Bob: …………ahhhh……ahem …. Well, you see … it is not a family member… but rather a friend of mine who passed away. …. In a violent car accident… and I was also there with him in the car when it happened….

Manager: Ohhh – that’s terrible, Bob…That is just horrible – you must be devastated…… But, Bob, you do realize that the police keeps a record of all people involved in fatal accidents, right? And so, all I have to do is to call the police and get them to confirm that they took down your social security number as part of the routine investigation..

Bob.: ooohhh, weeeellll, then they would not find my name….. You see …..I was actually not in the car after all.. But I was in another car – and it was my fault that my friend had an accident.. you see,….. we were racing … and it’s was all my fault.

Manager: Wow – that’s really heavy, Bob. Why didn’t you just say so in the first place? Perhaps you can send me a copy of any newspaper clippings or a copy of the standard police rapport documenting the fatal incident – and then we’ll talk no more of this.

Bob: Okay……. Well, actually there never was any accident. The truth is that I am gay and that my boyfriend just died of AIDS. OK?

Manager: Bob …. please try to swing by the office. There is something we need to talk about.

When i look at my little girl – soon turning into a little woman – I get a bit worried – where is the time flying? And how do I tell her in a nice and smart way that the grown ups and the adults have no big book with the formula? I still suffer from the idea that I need to find that book/list….

Im so impressed by the energy of this guy – he NEVER stops! In the beginning i was pretty sure he was not in it with the hearth – but after following him intensely for 12 months I must say hat he makes me feel like a lazy pri.. His blog and twittering is stellar.

My life is kaos – and I love caos – but today its fucking hard…

Its so much harder then I had ever expected to:

understand a newspaper from A to Z
do 80 other companies,
make a pro investment office,
get a fantastic new son,
be head of logistics for 3 kids,
be nice to everyone
remember to call my mum
raise 20mio euro for a financial services company,
do an IPO in india
stay in shape
satisfy my own starndars towards investment partners
think positive,
motivate,
be social responsible (what ever that fu…. means),
build a wave energy company,
call my amassing entrepreneurs enough
look into the mobile market,
sell a mobile app company,
eat lowcarb,
understand how marriage works
stay updated on facebook
stay updated on linkedin
do an ecommerce aplication in Russian,
laugh enough,
not dress to bad,
be a good father
be effective,
see my 2-3 friends enough
kiss my kids enough
remember to get a haircut
be on my blackberry 24/7
understand what its all about…

Well – who am i to complain – it my dream to be in my position – but today – ITS KAOS :)

Its been a 18 months now and growing like hell – and Zecco is now getting to teenage stage ;) – and so well run.

Last night my wife gave birth to our 4th child – a wonderful baby boy. Its better then any other experience in the world – and I feel happy from top to toe. We haven’t decided on a name yet – but I’m pretty sure we have to leave the L name concept (Lisa, Laura, Linus) – since we cant find a name starting with L. Suggestions are wellcome…

Kind of weird but fun (only in danish)

After taking over the newspaper – a lot of people have called/emailed me to ask for favors – with deals they want to get done with the paper. Im really sorry to have to state to you dear valued readers and friends – that ITS A BAD APPROACH. I love to help – in any way shape or form – but its impossible to put anyone ahead of each other in business ;) So please dont ask me to help your cousin the become a journalist or your friends friend to deliver the launch ;) – but feel free to shoot ideas and concepts like ALWAYS.
